Sims 3 World Adventures is the first of two expansion packs for Sims 3 on iPhone. World Adventures takes the Sims 3 and adds three new environments to visit.
Nothing has changed in World Adventures from the original Sims 3. Your house is in a slightly different part of town. But that is about where all the changes stop. This isn’t necessarily a bad thing. Sims 3 was a good game (See how good by checking out my review here.) Still, I would have preferred a bit more advancement since I am giving them more of my hard earned money.
Where Sims 3 World Adventures has advanced is you can now have worldwide adventures. Your sim can now visit the Eiffel Tower in France, Great Wall in China, and The Pyramids in Egypt. Just go to the airport, buy a ticket, play a (bad) mini game and bam, your sim is in China touring the Great Wall. Â Each city is its own town. Your sim can buy local food, buy souvenirs, tour famous structures, and increase new skills.
In China your sim can visit the Great Wall as well as the Forbidden City. When your sim visits you get a cool cut scene of your sim running around. You also get some really interesting facts about the structure. Did you know The Eiffel Tower was originally going to be a temporary structure to be torn down? Or that The Great Wall had one million soldiers standing guard duty on its wall at the pinnacle of Chinese strength. You can learn awesome little factoids like these and impress your friends. In all seriousness, I really did like that it gave you a small little history lesson about each structure. I thought that was a cool little thing to add in.
Aside from visiting three different areas there isn’t much meat to Sims 3 World Adventures. Basically it is just Sims 3 plus a few new areas. If you already own Sims 3 I can’t think of any reason you need to pick up this game, unless you really want to spend some time exploring ruins in Egypt then give this a pass. However, if you don’t already own Sims 3 then Sims 3 World Adventures isn’t a bad choice.
